A German court here today sentenced Guido Immerthal, a former Gestapo officer, to eight years imprisonment for the murder of a Jewish merchant named Fuerstenstein on the night of November 9, 1938, at Chemnitz, in Saxony.

One of the major prosecution witnesses was a former officer of the Gestapo criminal investigating department at Chemnitz, who testified that the Gestapo, which originally investigated the Fuerstenstein murder, found Immerthal to be guilty. His only punishment at that time was a reprimand and an order forbidding him to carry a weapon for one year.
