The Arab countries have been urged by Mohandas Grandi, Indian leader, to offer “hospitality” to Jews who wish to enter their territeries. A letter from Ghandi to the Arab League was published here today.
In the communication, the Jews are described as “an intelligent, learned, active people,” who “can serve the country where they live.” Ghandi added that the Jews are a persecuted people who deserve the world’s sympathy and have the full sympathy of India.
Referring to the tradition of Arab hospitality, the Indian leader wrote. “If the Jews come to you and you give them protection and hospitality without need of (##)diation, then you will have fulfilled the traditions for which you are famous.”
