An American war crimes tribunal today acquitted ?ge Viermetz, the only woman among 14 high Nazi officials and former generals ?cused of genocide.
The court brought in verdicts of guilty against eight defendants while five here found guilty only of membership in the Gestapo, but not of participating the Nazi program of mass-extermination, of Jews and other peoples in occupied territories. The eight were sentenced to prison terms ranging from ten years to life.
