The Women’s League for Israel, opening a fundraising campaign to build a women’s student resident center at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, turned over yesterday a check for $75, 000 to the University. The goal of the campaign is $250, 000.
The check was presented to Dr. Bernard Cherrick, director general of the board of governors of the University, by Mrs. William Prince, president of the league, at a donors luncheon. The cornerstone laying ceremony for the building will be held this Spring. The center will include dormitory facilities for 180 women, study and recreation rooms, and a cafeteria for faculty and students.
