Goal of $1,875,000 Set for 1949-50 Campaign of Hebrew Union College and U.A.H.C.

A goal of $1,875,000 for the Combined Campaign of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and the Union of American Hebrew Congregations was set here following a meeting of the National Committee of the drive. Dr. Samuel S. Hollander, of Chicago, was elected general chairman of the 1949-50 Campaign.

Isidor Coons, former executive vice-chairman of the United Jewish Appeal, was appointed executive vice-chairman of the Combined Campaign. Saud S. Elgart was reappointed campaign director. The National Committee adopted a resolution establishing the 1949-50 drive, which says in party

“The College-Institute and the Union must achieve through their Combined Campaign this year a minimum goal of $1,875,000. Now as never before must the principles of Judaism and the American creed combine as an unshakable and growing force. We can affirm our belief in ourselves, in our faith and in our nation’s future by contributing to the 1949-50 Combined Campaign of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and the Union of American Hebrew Congregations.”
