Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel’s Foreign Minister, took off last night from Idlewild Airport to return to Israel following a one-month tour of the United States and Canada. She visited some 20 major cities, and addressed the Jewish communities there on Israel’s needs.
On the eve of her departure, Mrs. Meir emphasized the importance of the participation of American Jewry in the tasks of receiving and absorbing an increasing number of immigrants to Israel this year, principally from Eastern European countries.
