An agreement calling for technical cooperation between Israel and Tanganyika was signed here today on behalf of the two governments by Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel’s Foreign Minister and Paul Bomani, Tanganyika’s Minister of Finance.
The agreement is actually a confirmation of a program of Israeli aid to this country that has been in progress for more than a year. The pact, said Mr. Bomani, “is confirmation of the benefits Tanganyika has received through cooperation and assistance from Israel. This agreement will mark the continuation of long-established cooperation between our two countries.”
Many Tanganyikans are now undergoing training in Israel, and some have already completed their Israeli courses, and have returned here to aid the country’s economy. Israel has also sent experts here in the fields of agriculture, village planning, economic development, youth training and health. More Israeli experts are to be sent here under the new pact.
