Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel’s Foreign Minister, was again designated by the Cabinet here today to head Israel’s delegation to the forthcoming General Assembly of the United Nations, due to convene September 17. She has headed the Government’s Assembly delegation every year since she became. Foreign Minister in 1955. As usual, Israel’s permanent representatives at the United Nations, Ambassador Michael S. Comay, will head the delegation during Mrs. Meir’s absence from the Assembly
Other members of the delegation will be Ambassador Arthur Lourie, Israel’s envoy to Britain; Gideon Rafael and Ehud Avriel, deputy directors of the Foreign Ministry here; and Jcel Barromi, the deputy permanent representative at the United Nations who is also Ambassador to Haiti. Members of Parliament, representing the various parties, will also join the delegation. The names of the Parliamentary members will be submitted to the Cabinet for its approval next Sunday.
