Dr. and Mrs. Samuel H. Goldenson were officially welcomed by Temple Emanu-El last night at a testimonial dinner which was attended by many notables who belong to the congregation. The dinner was held in the Isaac M. Wise Memorial Hall. Six hundred were present.
Rabbi Goldenson succeeds the late Hyman G. Enelow in the Emanu-El pulpit.
Among those present were Rabbi Samuel Schulman, formerly in the Emanu-El pulpit; Appeals Judge Irving Lehman, president of the congregation; Mr. and Mrs. Felix M. Warburg, Professor and Mrs. Richard Gottheil, Max J. Kohler Henry Morgenthau, Rabbi Nathan A. Perlman, Hugh Grant Straus, Roger W Straus. Lewis L. Straus, Sol M. Stroock. Arthur Hays Sulzberger, Ludwig Vogelstein. Rabbi and Mrs. Jonah B. Wise, Louis Wiley and Frank L. Well.
