The establishment of a consultative council made up of representatives of Diaspora Jewry to serve as a permanent advisory body to the Israel Government was proposed here Friday by Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the World Jewish Congress and former president of the World Zionist Organization. Speaking at a forum of the Jerusalem Journalists Association, Dr. Goldmann said the Israeli Government should not expect Diaspora Jewry to accept on faith every decision it makes. He said that while unquestioning acceptance might be essential in times of emergency, in normal times Israel’s position on important international matters should be coordinated with Diaspora leaders.
