Tel Aviv Chief Rabbi Shlomo Goren will go to Rumania tomorrow to participate in the 60th birthday celebration of Rumania’s Chief Rabbi Moshe Rosen. The Jewish community of Bucharest is sponsoring the celebration.
Goren will deliver personal greetings from Premier Golda Meir and the Israeli government. He will attend Sabbath service in the Bucharest Choral Synagogue and will deliver the main sermon. He is also expected to meet with leaders of various other religions in Rumania. Rabbi Goren will be accompanied by his wife and MK Itzhak Koren, who heads the Israeli-Rumanian Friendship League.
