Government Again Bans Use of Temporary Tel Aviv Abattoir

The Jews of this city are again excited over schechita, because the government has forbidden slaughtering at the temporary abbatoir, a former leather factory, on the ground that the permission to use the converted tannery, which held good for only a month, has expired.

Plans submitted by the Tel Aviv municipality for a new building to house the abbatoir have not yet been approved, nevertheless the ban on the temporary slaughtering house stands Since the butchers and shochtim are resolved not to return to Jaffa to do their slaughtering, the Tel Aviv municipality has decided to fight the new order.
