The revision or vacating of sentences imposed under Austrian laws punishing war criminals was demanded in a bill introduced in Parliament today by the People’s Party, major partner in the Austrian coalition government.
The measure furthermore provides that former Nazis who registered as such under the postwar laws of Austria may appeal their registration if they were not ”heavily incriminated” in the Nazi machinery. Parliament is expected to act on the measure next month.
