Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller was presented the Louis Marshall Distinguished Service Medal of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America for his “protection of the oppressed, his enlightened policy towards America’s neighbors in this hemisphere and his quest for justice and peace.” Presentation of the gold medal was made to the New York Governor by Dr. Louis Finkelstein, Seminary chancellor, at the Annual Founders Day Dinner attended by 500 friends of the Seminary in the New York Hilton.
