Grand Rabbi Jacob Kaplan of France tonight expressed his formal thanks to American Jewry for its assistance in rehabilitating the war-shattered Jewish community of France. The Grand Rabbi made his remarks at a reception tendered in his honor by the American Jewish Committee. The Grand Rabbi is in the United States as a guest of the New York Board of Rabbis.
Directing his thanks particularly to the Joint Distribution Committee, the American Jewish Committee and the rabbinate of America, Rabbi Kaplan said that “had not such help been forthcoming there would have been a complete disappearance of the Jewish community in France.”
