The Jewish Community of Graz held a special meeting today to celebrate the winning of the Nobel prize in medicine by Prof. Otto Lowi of Graz University in conjunction with Sir Henry Hallet Dale. Dr. Loewi was elected an honorary member of the community.
Most Vienna newspapers voiced satisfaction that an Austrian had won the award, but several clerical newspapers played down the account, evidently because Dr. Loewi is Jewish.
