Greek Anti-semites Seek Salonica Post; Hit ‘jewish’ Mayor

The EEE (Etniki Enosis Eladis), an anti-Semitic organization founded in Greces in 1927 and recently reorganized into a party to prevent the goup’s being dissolved by the government, will make its first political appearance in the forthcoming mayoralty clections. The candidate for Mayor on the EEE slate will be M. Cosmides, president of the party.

Comides is an illiterate tailor who has repeatedly been prosecutied by the police for inciting anti-Semitic acts. He was also tried in connection with the pogrom which took place in teh Cambell quarter, the Jewish section of the city, in 1931, but was freed for lack of evidence paper, in supporting the liberal candidate for Mayor, decries the Tsaldarist (government party) candidate, Nicholas Manos, as a “Jewish Mayor.”
