Greek Catholic Archbishop Hillarion Capucci ended his partial hunger strike on Christmas Day, Israeli prison officials reported. The cleric began his hunger strike Dec. 13 in an effort to gain a pardon after being sentenced to 12 years in prison on charges of gunrunning for Palestinian terrorists. Israeli prison commissioner Arye Nir reported earlier that the Archbishop was refusing solid food but was taking a glass of concentrated liquid nourishment twice a day. He began eating solid foods again Dec. 25.
