The Greek flag which flew over the town hall of Athens last Saturday to mark the fourth anniversary of the Italian invasion of Greece, was sent to Premier Papandreou by representatives of the Jewish community councils of Athens and Salonika, it was revealed today.
Together with the flag, the Jewish representative sent a message recalling the part played by Greek Jews in the campaign in Albania and stating that “we will never forget the heroic solidarity of the entire Greek people with their follow-citizens of the Jewish faith, nor the help extended in the worst hours of anti-Semitic persecutions.
