Drassis, organ of the Greek anti-Semitic Nazi organization, EEE, suspended publication for one month. The last issue of the paper stated that the purpose of the suspension was to “assemble our forces in order to return to the battle.” Actually the shutting down of the anti-Semitic paper is said to be due to the lack of funds.
The EEE was founded about a year ago by Greek anti-Semites who announced their whole-hearted acceptance of the Hitler program toward the Jews. Some time ago the group held a convention in Salonica, which has a population of more than 60,000. They announced that their movement was growing rapidly and gaining thousands of adherents.
In the recent elections in Salonica they nominated for Mayor an illiterate shoemaker who was suspected of having been involed in the riots against the Jews in 1931, which led to the incendiary destruction of the entire Jewish quarter. The EEE candidate, however, received only a few hundred votes.
