The Greek government today assigned 5,000,000 drachmas (approximately $50,000) for a housing project for Christians and Jews, excludonly the Jewish refugees who fled recently from Turkey.
Governor General Pericles Rhallis declared that the project would prove a boon, since “one-fourth of the Jewish population was without shelter after the catastrophic conditions of 1918 and 1934.”
