Michael Grodin was elected president of the United Jewish Welfare Fund of Oakland at its eighth annual meeting here. Other officers elected for the ensuing year were Matt Wahrhaftig, first vice-president; Dr. Charles Wise, second vice-president; Bernard Silverstein, third vice-president and Frederick Kahn Jr., treasurer.
Leonard J. Meltzer was announced as campaign director for the August appeal. A budget of $30,055, submitted by B. L. Mosbacher, was adopted as the campaign basis.
