Ground was broken Sunday on the Hebrew University’s Mount Scopus campus for a student residence center named for Brazil. The ceremony, the first event at the university’s annual board of governors’ conference, was attended by Brazil’s Ambassador Luiz de Almeida Nogueira Porto; Dr. Bernardo Ackerman, president of the Sao Paulo chapter of the Brazilian Friends of the Hebrew University; Mrs. Sara Abramovitz, vice-president of the Sao Paulo chapter of Brazilian Settlers in Israel; and Sam Rothberg of Peoria, III., chairman of the university’s Board of Governors. The Casa do Brazil will house 72 students including married couples.
