Forty-three boys and girls from throughout the country left for Israel today for a year of work, study and travel. They are members of Bnei Akiva, the religious Zionist youth movement. The young people are divided into two groups, one of which will be assigned to Kvutzat Yavne and the other to Kvutzat Sa’ad, both religious kibbutzim.
Members of the group will work on the kibbutz for a half day and study for a half day for five months of the program. Learning sessions will include studies in the Talmud, Bible, religious law, advanced Hebrew and Jewish history. The youths, who are 17 to 21 years old, will attend study sessions in Yeshivat Bnei Akiva-Or Etzion and leadership seminars in Bet She an and Jerusalem. Lectures by top Israeli officials and leaders will be offered to the Institute members.
