Thousands of Canadian Jews today attended the funeral of Hanano Meier Caiserman, founder and general secretary of the Canadian Jewish Congress, who died here at the age of 67.
Mr. Caiserman also helped organize the Canadian Zionist Organization in 1925 and 1926 and the Jewish Immigrant Aid Society of Canada in 1920. The tireless communal worker and Labor Zionist also aided in the establishment of the Jewish People’s Library and various Jewish school movements. In addition, he was active as a writer and art critic, contributing to English, French and Yiddish language publications.
