Habimah, Israel’s famous theatrical troupe, left today for Paris to participate in the annual dramatic festival to be held at the “Nations Theater. The troupe will perform “Medea” and “Dybbuk,” making its second appearance at the festival.
Before leaving, Habimah announced two contests for plays on Israeli themes. The first, for $2, 000, is for a play devoted to Israel’s tenth anniversary. This competition is open to Jews and non-Jews all over the world. The second prize, 1, 000 Israeli pounds, is for the best dramatic work based on the diary of Hannah Senesz, a hero ire of wartime efforts to rescue Jews trooped by the Nazis, who was captured and killed on one of her missions in Nazi-held Hungary.
