Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, has raised close to $55,000 since January 1 for the non-sectarian medical and health work maintained by the organization in Palestine, it was announced at the national Hadassah headquarters. The women Zionists are raising their own funds for their Palestinian projects pending the opening of the Allied Jewish Campaign in the Spring, which will be conducted by the Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Agency for Palestine.
Hadassah’s independent campaign was launched with the approval of Felix M. Warburg, chairman of the administrative committee of the Jewish Agency Council. In his letter approving Hadassah’s plans he urged “full speed ahead.” When the Allied Jewish Campaign opens Hadassah will participate, and funds for the Hadassah Medical Organization will then be provided by the Campaign. The money now being raised by Hadassah will be credited to the Allied Jewish Campaign.
