A total of $9,443,186 was raised by Hadassah during the past year, it was revealed today at the 35th annual convention of the women’s Zionist organization of America by Mrs. Abraham Tulin, national treasurer. The sum represents an increase of more than $500,000 over the sum obtained during the previous year.
Israel Consul-General for the West Coast Reuven Dafni, addressing the delegates, said: “With the aid of Jewish communities in all parts of the world in the absorption of newly-arrived immigrants, we can be on our feet in record time and will become a living example for all mankind of what can be done in the way of progress when modern technology and the prophetic belief of the possibility of achieving justice and peace in our time join lands.”
