Chapters of Hadassah and Junior Hadassah, have contributed $40,000 toward the purchase of 5,000 acres in Upper Gaillee, Palestine, it was announced by Mrs. Herman Shulman, national secretary of Hadassah. Both groups plan to raise $500,000 over a period of five years for the “redemption” of the Galilee tract for the Jewish National Fund, in its drive to “extend the frontiers of the Jewish homeland.”
Mrs. Shulman said the 500 Hadassah chapters expect to raise the bulk of the funds for the Galilee project through gift bonds, stamps and box collections. The campaign will culminate on Mothers’ Day, May 8.
