Haganah and Irgun units clashed last night and today in a series of incidents in various parts of the country.
Two members of a Haganah patrol were seriously injured during the night at ## shon Le Zion, when they exchanged shots with Irgunists who were posting placards. In a similar clash at Nathanya, there were no casualties, although the Irgunists fired ##veral shots before being dispersed. The other incidents, of a minor nature, oc##rred at Rehovoth and Hadera.
Meanwhile, a band of extremists wrecked the office of the Atara Cafe in Tel ##iv today when the owner refused to contribute funds. A youth and a girl were at-Acked later in Jerusalem for an undisclosed reason.
Jittery British troops caused two false alerts in Jerusalem in the past 24 ##urs. Early yesterday afternoon, sirens wailed after a shot was fired from a gun ##top a mosque to signal the beginning of a Moslem holiday. During the night guards ##arted shooting at what they termed suspicions movements in the Moslem cemetery in the center of the city, but nothing suspicious was found.
