The Haifa District Court today rejected an appeal by 21 Arab landowners in the Beit Netofa region against a condemnation order issued by the Israel Water Authority for parts of their lands which are to be used for the construction of a portion of the Jordan-Negev irrigation project.
Work on the project, which was halted because of the Arabs’ objections to the water-line passing through their lands, is expected to be resumed. Police in the area have made preparations in the event that the Arabs oppose by force the start of digging operations in the area.
