The Israel Technical Institute at Haifa is facing a serious financial crisis and may have to lower its standards unless it can find the necessary means to maintain its present organization, Brigadier Yaacov Dori, head of the institute, told a meeting of the board of governors of the school. He revealed that 1,468 students were currently studying at the school, which he described as one of the finest technical schools in the world.
