The House of Commons was informed by Foreign Undersecretary Richard A. Butler today that Foreign Secretary Lord Halifax is making inquiries with regard to the position of an estimated 4,000 Polish Jews who have been deported from Germany and are now wandering in “no-man’s-land” areas between the German and Polish frontiers. The statement was in reply to a question as to whether the British Government would approach Warsaw with a view to entry of the refugees to Poland.
