Sufi Abdul Hamid will appear before Magistrate Michael A. Ford in Sixth District Court, 121st street and Sylvan place, today in answer to a complaint charging disorderly conduct, sworn out by Edgar Burman, national commander of the anti-Nazi Minute Men.
The summons was served yesterday afternoon by Burman and Detective Thomas Tunney at the office of Hamid’s Negro Industrial Clerical Alliance, 205 West 135th street.
Burman charges Hamid acted in a disorderly manner at 125th street and Seventh avenue while speaking outdoors one night last month by inciting his auditors against the Jewish race.
Hamid has been trying to force Harlem Jewish merchants to employ members of the N. I. C. A. The Harlem Liberator, Negro weekly, reported yesterday that two Bronx garages have discharged more than twenty-five Negro taxi drivers in retaliation against Hamid’s coercive policies.
