Isaac Hamlin, newly elected chairman of the executive of the Histadrut campaign, was honored today at a lunch given by the American Trade Union Council for Histadrut prior to his departure for Israel next Sunday. More than 150 trade union leaders gathered at the Astor Hotel to bid farewell to the veteran of the campaign who for ### years served as its national secretary.
Mr. Hamlin has been invited by the Histadrut to establish in Israel an American center which should serve as the link between American labor and the labor movement there. He will spend the summer in Israel, and is scheduled to return in the fall to assist the newly elected national secretary, Dr. Dov Biegun, in conducting the 1955-56 campaign. He will settle in Israel permanently next spring.
