A person wishing to remain anonymous today offered the Isael Government his services as hangman, prepared to carry out executions which so far could not be carried out because nobody had applied for the post of executioner.
The applicant emphasized that he is “an expert,” and that he has already executed 87 persons in one of the British colonies. However, his engagement by the Israel Government is doubtful, since the government has promised the Parliament to suspend all executions until the Parliament acts on a law abolishing the death sentence. Five criminals sentenced to death are at present held in Israel’s prisons.
