Dr. Nahum goldmann, chairman of the American section of the Jewish Agency, last night expressed reservations about last week’s statement of policy on arms shipments to the Near East by the United States, Britain and France. Dr. Goldmann spoke at a session of the 27th annual convention of the Hapoel Hamizrachi of America, which is being held here.
“It would be a dangerous illusion to assume that with this declaration the threat to the security of Israel will be eliminated,” he declared. “Past experience has taught us to await implementation of such declarations.” Chaim Chanowitz, national director of Hapoel Hamizrachi of America, reported to the convention that more than 80 American members of the organization settled in Israel settlements during the past year.
