Israel was among the many nations which participated in the White House ceremony marking the signing of the Space for Peace agreement this weekend. Israel Ambassador Avraham Harman signed the document in behalf of his Government. (The Israeli Ambassador to Britain also signed the treaty in ceremonies held simultaneously in London.)
Yesterday, Ambassador Harman transmitted a message of condolence from Prime Minister Levi Eshkol to President Johnson, mourning the death of the three American astronauts. Mr. Eshkol cabled: “The death of these three courageous astronauts is a grievous blow to the whole world.”
