Harold J. Berman, Hartford High School senior, is one up on his father, Saul Berman, United States referee in bankruptcy. Not only did the younger Berman follow his father’s footsteps as a debater for the school, but he went him one better by doubling the record.
Thirty years ago, when the annual Batterson prize debate was inaugurated at the school, Attorney Berman won first prize. Last year Harold captured the prize and repeated the procedure this year, making it also the first time any debater has won first honors twice in succession.
