Linda Lingle, a Republican, took time off during an official visit to New York on Wednesday to visit the Queens gravesite of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson. “She’s very involved with Chabad in Hawaii,” Rabbi Itchel Krasnjansky, the Chabad representative in Hawaii, told JTA. “On a personal level, she’s developed a strong relationship with her Judaism.”
