Harold E. Foreman, president of the Foreman banks of Chicago, was named chairman of a citizens’ committee of two hundred prominent Chicagoans to formulate plans for the raising of Chicago’s quota of $750,000 for flood relief work. Acting Mayor Samuel A. Ettelson, the only Jew who has ever acted in this capacity, who is corporation counsel in Mayor Thompson’s cabinet, named the committee. Other Jews named among the directors of the body are A. Balaban and John Hertz.
