Presidents and chancellors of thirteen colleges and universities deplored the exclusion of Jewish children from the public schools of Germany under a recent decree, in telegrams made public today by Rabbi Jonah B. Wise, co-chairman of the Joint Distribution Committee’s campaign for $3,500,000.

Rabbi Wise said the J.D.C. is the only major American organization helping provide educational facilities for the estimated 60,000 Jewish children excluded from Reich schools. The following sent messages:

James R. Angell, Yale; Ray Lyman Wilbur, Stanford; Henry N. MacCrackcn, Vassar; Robert Gordon Sproul, University of California; Frank Aydelotte, Swarthmore; William Allan Neilson, Smith College; Francis P. Gaines, Washington and Lee University; Virginia C. Gildersleeve, Barnard; Mary E. Woolley, Mount Holyoke; Daniel L. Marsh, Boston University; Frederick B. Robinson, College of the City of New York; Murray Bartlett, Hobart College, and John Stewart Bryan, William and Mary College.
