The Soviet’s foreign trade department has sent a large consignment of Jewish religious boks, including many Torah scrolls, to Warsaw for sale, according to the local Yiddish daily, “Moment.” The paper says that the rabbinate has issued a prohibition against Jews buying any of these books, which are thought to be some of those confiscated in the recent anti-religious crusade.
