The Jewish Sabbath Alliance of America, an organization whose object it is to promote the observance of the Seventh Day Sabbath has started a campaign for a Five-Day Week System. William Randolph Hearst, A. L. Malkenson of the “Jewish Morning Journal”, Capt. N. Taylor Phillips, Judge Abram I. Elkus and Senator Downing, chairman of the Committee on Finance of the State of New York have accepted the invitation to join the committee for the securing of a Five-Day Week system.
Mr. Rosenberg, in charge of this committee, is expecting to call the first conference which will probably be held in the latter part of January at Albany, New York. “This”, Mr. Rosenberg says, “is not a distinctly Jewish problem, although formed by the Jewish Sabbath Alliance. It includes both Jewish and Christian business men and ministers of both faiths. It is for the benefit of the entire community that this work has begun.”
