The recent heavy rains in Israel have removed the danger of an extreme water shortage for a number of settlements in the Negev and have provided full storage reservoirs for another large group of new settlements. The huge dam at Tel Yeruham in the central Negev had impounded over 1,250,000 cubic meters of water by last night, which should supply all the irrigation needs of a number of settlements in the northern portion of Israel’s arid area.
