All Hebrew Schools of New York have been ordered closed Friday-the day of the funeral of President Harding, and a large number of other Jewish institutions are planning special memorial services.
The order for the closing of the Jewish schools was issued by the “Agudath Hemanahlim”, or Principals’ Association.
The Cantors Association held a memorial service for the late President Tuesday night at which the life of the deceased President was eulogized. Cantor Roitman chanted the “El Roleh Rachamim”.
The Jewish Merchants and Pedlers’ Association on the East Side aree displaying mourning signs on their stores.
Special Memorial services have been arranged for the Hebrew Orphan Asylum and the Home for aged and Infirm Hebrews, which are maintained by the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies.
