The leading representatives of the various communities in New England have been invited to attend a conference in the interest of the Hebrew Teachers’ College of Boston. The conference will be held at the college proper, which is located in Dorchester. The invitations have been sent out by Judge A. K. Cohen, a leader in charitable and educational work in New England.
Among the speakers will be Hon. A. K. Cohen, Prof. Nathan Isaacs of Harvard, Dr. Samuel Perlman, Dean of the College, Louis Hurwich, Director of the Bureau of Jewish Education, Rabbi Jacob Sonderling of Providence, Rabbi Harry Levy of Boston, Rabbi H. H. Rabinovitz of Boston and Henry Yozell of Lynn.
The aim of this conference is to foster a greater interest in the achievements of the Hebrew Teachers’ College as a seat of Jewish learning and as an excellent training school for the development of Hebrew teachers and young scholars in New England. It is expected that an associate board of trustees consisting of leading Jewish representatives from the important New England communities outside of Boston, will be formed as a result of this conference.
