The Hebrew Teachers Union today resolved to go out on a Palestine-wide strike for higher wages after the Feast of Tabernacles holiday ends tomorrow night.
The walkout had originally been scheduled for Sept. 30, but the teachers promised to postpone it until after the holiday on the promise of the Histadruth, general labor federation, and the Mizrachi, orthodox Zionist organization, to mediate the dispute.
The Vaad Leumi, Jewish National council of Palestine, has declared lack of funds prevents it from meeting the teachers’ demands.
