Special memorial services for Dr. Judah L. Magnes, president of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem who died in New York last week, were conducted last night at Hebrew Union College here, of which Dr. Magnes was a graduate.
Dr. Nelson Glueck, president of the H.U.C., declared that Dr. Magnes “had been a great leader and teacher, constantly battling for ideals which promised peace and occupation in Palestine and the world at large. He was always in the minority, and was forever respected by the majority,” he said.
