Hebrew Union Council Discusses New Duties at Tel Aviv Meeting

A meeting of the council of the World Hebrew Union, under the chairmanship of Chaim Nachman Bialik, has been held here with representatives of cultural and national organizations as well as of executive council members of the Union resident in Palestine.

Dr. A. Resenfeld addressed the gathering on the work of the central committee and the meeting at Prague. Isaiah Adler spoke of the Prague congress, which decided to transfer the center of Palestine Bialik dwelt on the duties and responsibilities of the Union in the immediate future. A committee of thirty-six members was appointed, and a sub-committee chosen to map out forthcoming activties.

A meeting of the central council was held here on January 4, and the plans submitted for approval. A world central committee was elected consisting of Bialik, Adler, J. L. Goldberg, Messrs. Dinaburg, Yavneeli, Lipetz, Matmon-Cohen, and Drs. Nahum Slousch, M. Soloweitchik, A. Rosenfeld and Abraham Schwadron.
